James Shellock

It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to a wonderful young man and an integral part of the Emergency Ambulance Service Family, who lost his life in a tragic accident. James Shellock was liked by everyone he interacted with. A young EMT with a bright future that was cut short way too soon. He was thoughtful, compassionate and we received a great deal of praise from his patients. The members of our community that he treated while on duty at EAS report that James always went the extra mile to assure they were comfortable and well taken care of. His Coworkers were very fond of James stating that he was always in good spirits and a positive force in the workplace. James was dedicated to helping others. James, You will be missed. Emergency Ambulance Service would like to extend our condolences to his family and friends. From our family to yours, you are in our thoughts and prayers. Attached is a link for a go fund me that has been established in memory of James.

Open Enrollment

Dear Colleagues,

I would like to start out by wishing you and your family members all a happy holiday season.
As we approach the end of the year and open enrollment, I would like to remind everyone that this is the time to make any changes to Health/Dental/Vision benefits. All changes must be submitted to Omri prior to 12/28/2018 in order to make the deadline and to ensure timely processing. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns you would like to address regarding benefits.

In addition, I have received quite a few questions regarding UNUM. I have already been in contact with them and we will be holding an open enrollment for changes around February. I will provide more details in January when all is set.

Finally, I would like to notify you all that this year our health insurance premiums did rise sharply. After careful deliberation and discussions with the ownership, they have decided that EAS will cover the entire increase in 2019. I personally would like to inform you that they have repeatedly done so since I have been in this position. All employee contributions have not increased since 2014.
As you are aware the Health Insurance market has been very tumultuous due to legislation. I am extremely thankful to the owners for continuously covering all the premium increases. EAS employees today contribute the exact same amount towards their benefits as they did in 2014 despite the exploding cost of providing these benefits to you.
